Mauricio J Rodriguez, a well-known Cuban bass player and composer, created the MJR Latin Project. The band is composed of some of the finest musicians in the Tampa Bay area featuring Grammy winning saxophonist, Zach Bornheimer; pianist Pablo Arencibia; drummer Andy Fornet; percussionist Carlos Javier Navarro and Rodriguez on bass. This band revives the Latin jazz scene with original compositions pleasing the most demanding spectators with its intricate fusion of Latin rhythms and momentary flashbacks to the Latin greats of musical history. The richness of the Latin flavor and modern compositional elements create a complex Latin rhythmical approach. 

Paul Gavin is the Artistic Director and Arranger of both the Gulf Coast Jazz Collective in Fort Myers, FL and the Lake Wales Jazz Connection in Lake Wales, FL. Paul leads both ensembles in concerts to exuberant crowds of jazz lovers. Concerts have featured arrangements of the music of Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Cannonball & Nat Adderley, Dave Brubeck, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Pat Metheny, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea and more. He has played regularly with great musicians in the Tampa bay area including trumpet player James Suggs, singer Gloria West, and bassist Michael Ross. He has also played regularly in the Fort Myers area with the late, great trumpet player Dan Miller, guitarist Dan Heck, bassist Brandon Robertson, and the Stardust Memories Big Band.

Danny’s vocal influences include Harry Connick Jr., Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, Bobby Darin and Tony Bennett. His piano influences include Oscar Peterson, Barry Harris, Red Garland, Bill Charlap, Mulgrew Miller and Benny Green.
Aside from performing all over Florida for over 20 years, Danny has performed in New York City at The Cutting Room, Smoke, The Apollo Theater, BB King’s, Triad, Minton’s and The Alhambra Ballroom, as well as the Syracuse Jazz Festival, the Adirondack Music Festival and the Sun Coast Jazz Classic in Clearwater, FL.
