Jazz in the Park. Opening event of the week-long Sarasota Jazz Festival. FREE Jazz outdoors at Nathan Benderson Park from 3:00 - 6:30 pm. Entertainment includes Panama Drive Quintet, Melanie Massell and Friends and the Roy Gerson Quartet. Other festival events during the week include a Jazz Trolley/Pub Crawl (featuring "live jazz" at 10 venues with top area jazz artists), jazz film presentation with commentary by Ken Franckling, jazz photographer and author, four evening concerts with national and international jazz artists and much more.
